Time & Location

Jul 31, 2022, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Foster Farm, 22 Loud Lane, Warner, NH, USA

About the event

Learn to use a sloyd knife to carve simple figures and shapes out of wood. Students will gain experience and confidence using the sloyd knife to be able to leave class and explore the limitless world of whittling and carving on their own. We will learn about wood grain, wood selection, and tool safety and care. This is an excellent class for people who are brand new to carving and woodwork, as well as for folks with some carving experience who are looking for a meditative and peaceful way to brush up and reengage in the carving world.

Students leave class with: carved item; resource list/handout

Lee is a spoon carver and green woodworker with a background in education. They have been carving avidly for three years. Lee teaches to a broad spectrum of learners – whatever your learning style and whoever you are, this is the place for you! Lee’s favorite tool is the froe (used for splitting wood), and their favorite place to be is in the woods with their dog, Artie.

Limited to 8 participants.

Cost: $80
