About the event
A zine is a small circulation, self-published work of art. Anyone can make a zine and a zine can be about anything. Share your identity, your skill or your art, your thoughts and your ideas. Zines can include words, original art, photos, collage. Zines are an ultimate DIY, alternative and democratic art form emphasizing direct connection between the creator and the reader...”turning imagined communities into embodied ones.” (Alison Piepmeier) Liane will bring a collection of zines for the group to peruse and will share a brief history of zines. We will each make a mini-zine and print copies to bring home. You can also choose to print a few extra copies to put on the zine shelves at Warner Public Market.
Cost is $5 to cover the cost of materials. Plenty of materials will be available to use but bring your own if you have things you’d like to work with. All are welcomed and encouraged! No art background needed!
