About the event
Batiking is an ancient art form originally from Indonesia that has spread around the globe. It is a wax resist fabric dying technique with infinite possibilities. In this workshop we will discuss and see examples of various styles, techniques and traditions. Everyone will have the chance to practice creating their own batiks to bring home. After this workshop you will know all the materials and tools needed to continue exploring this art form on your own. Class fee includes all materials and specialized tools - just bring your ideas and creativity!
$50 - 80 Sliding scale, 8 people max.
Instructor Bret Ingold is a metal sculptor and foundry worker by trade. He studied batiking in Thailand and on his own as a way to explore color and make art while traveling.
