About the event

In this workshop you will learn how to make a 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" hardcover journal using a two needle coptic binding. This binding lays completely flat making it ideal for journaling and sketching.

You'll leave the class with a completed customized book and printed step-by-step instructions to take home to make more. All materials will be provided, however you're encouraged to bring any special papers or ephemera that you would like to include in your journal.

Joy Malcolm is an artist and bookbinder who enjoys mixed media art and art journaling. She is a juried member of the New Hampshire League of Craftsmen for Mixed Media/Bookbinding.

Limited to 8 participants

Cost: $60

Class may take place indoors, but if weather allows then the class will all be taught outside under a tent, with a backup plan in case of rain. The location at Foster Farm is rustic, and participants should be comfortable being outdoors for the full day. Please bring your own lunch and anything else you need to be comfortable. Seating will be provided and there is a composting outhouse.
