About the event

Handbound brooms bring joy and beauty to a common daily task. Come learn to make brooms from found tree branch handles, broom corn, and string with a simple set of tools. Class is taught by Eric McIntyre, a craftsperson and teacher from mid-coast Maine who enjoys learning and sharing a wide range of craft skills. Broom binding requires fair hand strength and dexterity.

Limited to 6 participants.

Cost: $100

Classes will all be taught outside, with a backup plan in case of rain. The location is rustic, and participants should be comfortable being outdoors and working on the ground for most of the day. Address and directions will be shared with participants prior to the workshop.

Please bring your own lunch and a blanket or chair to sit on. Contact Ellie Brown ejb.615@gmail.com with any questions.

COVID guidelines: All instruction will be taking place outdoors and socially distanced. We ask that all participants please wear a mask when social distancing is not possible (i.e. one on one instruction). We will be in touch prior to each workshop if anything changes.
